"Eternally indebted for them all"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Whilst I think star ratings should be reserved for movies and not complex lifesaving healthcare, I thought I should balance some of the less good reviews with my experience. I was hit in the face with an microlight aircraft propeller which administered some horrific damage --I had extensive full-thickness facial lacerations and a very badly broken jaw. Waiting for the ambulance I thought it was game over for me, but this seraphic incredibly skilled max facs team have done such a tremendous job that on 4 months on all I'm left with is two really neat scars which are quickly fading, and they still plan on scar revision surgery to improve them further. In fact I saw a private max facs consultant in Birmingham about replacing one of my teeth lost in the ordeal and they said the repair had been done to "a very high standard". I owe these people my life!

Dear Andrew,

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital, Coventry after the serious accident you suffered in May.

I hope you are continuing to recover well.

I am delighted to hear that you such had a positive experience and that you are happy with the care you received.

It is particularly pleasing to hear that our Maxillofacial team provided you with such good care, and that following your accident their work has left you with just two scars and has been praised by a consultant at another organisation.

The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with the relevant staff.

Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
