"cataract surgery"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital / Ophthalmology

I have had cataract operations in April and September this year.

On both occasions the nursing staff and surgeons were brilliant.

Procedures at the hospital and instructions for follow-up care were absolutely clear and the outcome is that my sight is vastly better than it has been for many years. The only problem was the long wait between operations when the imbalance between my eyes meant that distance vision was fuzzy, reading was difficult and no glasses could address the problem.

I assume this reflects the extreme pressure that the hospital and staff are under.

The positive impact of the two operations and the skill and care of the staff far outweigh the relatively minor frustration of the wait.
