About: Hythe Hospital

Dietitian had not reminded themselves of my clinical history prior to appointment, despite calling me in 25 minutes after my appointment time.

Dietitian informed me I "have forgotten" things I have eaten as I do not fit into their pre-determined box.

Dietitian did not have sufficient knowledge of side effects of prior treatment to assist me so chose to deliver platitudes and accusations instead.

Announced an end to this advisory service with "we'll stop now.

You know what you have to do".

Left feeling a miserable, useless, frustrated failure.

Such a shame as I have found the care I have received from specialist clinicians, since being diagnosed and treated with cancer, incredibly positive.

Maybe I am doing them a disservice.

Throughout the whole 5 minute exchange, the dietitian appeared to be very irritated.

Maybe they had had some bad news.

Dear Mrs P

Thank you for taking the time to post your valuable feedback and I am very sorry for the delay in replying to you.

The dietician service is not managed by Southern Health and therefore we have not been able to get a response for you for which I am sorry.

We believe that this is managed by Southampton University Hospitals but to ensure your feedback reaches the right NHS Trust we would be grateful if you could call us on 02380 874065 so that we can help you.

Kind regards

Jane Tibble
