"Not being from the area I was ..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Not being from the area I was very nervous about being admitted to ward 2b Neuro Surgery for an operation due to take place on April fools day of all days and working in a hospital setting for the last twelve years made me even more nervous.

My nerves were soon dismissed from entering the ward, the staff were amazing, very friendly, professional, efficient and caring even when working short staffed and under pressure nothing was too much bother, domestics, porters and staff I met in the the X-ray department were all extremely friendly, how ever ill you are or feel just having people around you that take the time to make you feel special helps your recovery and Ward 2b ticked all the boxes I can't thank them enough .

What could be improved

When arriving at the ward to be admitted there were no beds available so the poor staff had to re-arrange the full set up of the ward to make it possible for all of us to have a bed so we had a bit of a wait but the sister(with a friendly manner) kept us informed at regular intervals what was

happening so at least we could understand the problems they were having'

Anything else?

I would like to thank my consultant and her team for their exceptional care, I know they are doing their job but the time and care I recieved was much more than that THANKYOU .

I can only say that my whole experience at the hospital was second to none !
