"Flaunden Ward , Watford General Hospital"

About: Watford General Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was admitted last week, with abdominal issues and placed within Flaunden Ward. The first night there unbearable, although there are signs up, asking people to be quiet as to not wake the patients up, the staff themselves made all the noise, in fact one end of the ward at 2am there seemed to be a Social Meeting, which was spoken in Polish by the staff,

I am not racist, but, when staff are speaking their own language in a ward I can find it quite intimidating.

Further more, it seemed like a nurse made sure she hit everything she could with trolley's etc at 3 am in the morning

One night I actually slept in the corridor as I could not sleep in the ward, a member of staff came and found me, assuring me he would do something about the problem.

In fact last night, I was so distressed with whats going on, I was in tears, again no compassion was shown to me at all, mind you I don't think the staff really noticed, they always  seem to be socially talking to each other, rather than working, or respecting that patients need sleep.

I was discharged and I had asked for safe guarding, this was refused although I am a vulnerable adult. I am a trans woman and at present and for the last 4 years, have been victimised by the NHS. In fact Flaunden Ward added to this, in fact the doctor when he did realise that I did not have a doctor, was challenged, then I was discharged, they even called security while I was packing my stuff, in many ways a sign of the times.

I was discharged today, with no medical plan, I am in the same condition, if not worse now, I feel like I have left to die, rather than being safeguarded to ensure I do not suffer any longer. In fact I would go so far as to say, that in my view Watford General Hospital contravened my human rights, equality law, and I think they purposely discharged me in a poor condition.

I discovered this evening also that the doctor they used, is under review, I am going to make enquiries at GMC, as I think they might have started employing people that aren't really qualified to work within the UK
