"Fantastic experience at Kettering - Wonderful..."

My first child was born in Bedford & my experience there was so different to Kettering. I thought every single member of staff we came into contact with at Kettering went above and beyond to be friendly, approachable & supportive.

The whole process of care was just flawless. There was great communication between the midwives delivering with me and my husband, but also with the rest of the ward. After labour we were bought breakfast & a lovely person came to offer help with a shower. We moved up into the ward & midwifes came to introduce themselves, food orders taken & all concerns/questions discussed. A midwife came round every 2 hours on the minute to do our babies observations & was always happy to discuss anything. My mum bought our son in to meet his new sister and she commented how lovely the staff on the desk were and how they had made a fuss asking if he had come to see a baby. We were discharged that night & again the midwives were happy to take the time to make sure we discussed all concerns/questions before leaving.

I just felt that the whole experience was so supportive. The actual process from arrival for evaluation to being discharged was flawless - at every stage there was a member of staff there talking us through it. I can't stress enough that every member of staff was so friendly. It was obviously a busy time for you guys as every ward & bed looked occupied but was never made to feel rushed or unsupported. I felt this was the complete opposite to my experience at Bedford hospital so I just wanted you to know how much my family and I appreciate the wonderful service you have provided for us. To start a new stage of family life after a smooth & supported delivery with such kindness has made a huge difference to my mental and physical wellbeing. The impact your jobs & unit has on people cannot be measured.
