"Dreadful, frightening experience"

About: Royal Free Hospital / Accident and emergency

Went to A&E with chest pain and found the whole department to be in a state of complete chaos. It started well enough,

I saw a nurse within half an hour who said I would have an ECG and some blood tests.

After waiting for two hours I was told I was relegated to urgent care, but since it was about to close they werent going to have time to see me. It was almost impossible to talk to anyone at the nurse station to ask what was going on.

When I did finally get hold of someone they said they were waiting for me to be passed on to A&e, they couldn't do any tests before that.

I went away without seeing a doctor, fuming and still in pain but not giving a damn whether it was serious or not.

I had the impression that staff couldn't really couldn't care less. Appalling experience all round.
