"Thank you!"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

A huge thank you to Good Hope Hospital

Our whole family would like to thank everyone who helped to save our Grandad, John. This is a Grandad who never stops. He will take you to swimming/rugby/dancing, fetch shopping, cut your grass, paint your house, fix your toilet, walk your dogs, collect you from distant places, despair at some of your decisions but always give you a hug, tell you to "get a grip", get Calpol, the list goes on and on. We do not know what we would do without him, he is so precious and we love him very, very, very much.

We were treated with such kindness and skill at Good Hope Hospital in every department we needed. A&E, Ward 17, Operating Theatre, ITU, Ward 16, micro-biology, X-ray/scanning, the porters. From senior management, everyone behind the scenes to those in the frontline we know that your organisation, teamwork, expertise and dedication has saved our Grandad's life. We brought him home last week and have the opportunity to give him the tender loving care he deserves.

We simply cannot thank you all enough!

Dear Anonymous

Thank you so much for your lovely post regarding the care and treatment provided to your Grandad John, who may I say, sounds like the best Grandad ever!

I'm so pleased to read that you and your family feel that your Grandad was treated with kindness and skill throughout his time in our hospital and I will be delighted to ensure that all of the areas you have mentioned, Ward 16, ITU, Theatres, Ward 17, X-ray, Micro-biology, our Portering Team and all other areas of the Hospital team who had input in some way, are made aware of your email comments by asking our Communications Team to include your post in our trust Newspaper called 'News@'. This will ensure that staff across the Trust, as well as patients and visitors will see your feedback. I will also highlight your post by email to the relevant managers of the areas you have mentioned.

I hope this is acceptable and once again thank you for taking the time to post your comments, your feedback is very important to us.

Please convey my regards and best wishes to your Grandad, I hope he is continuing to recover well, and allowing you and your family to spoil him!

Kindest regards

Marie Helebert
