"No Diabetic Care"

About: St Richard's Hospital / Diabetic medicine

I used to have my Type 1 care at St Richards hospital on a 6 monthly appointment basis. Then, about 8 years ago every appointment I booked was cancelled so I ended up going 2 years with no care. Only when I made a real fuss did someone tell me that my GP surgery should now be taking over. Since then, I have had patchy care from surgery based diabetic specialist nurses who have given me advice which is often wrong and generally unhelpful. To make things even worse, for the last year, I have been unable to even get an appointment at my surgery. There is no care for type 1 diabetics in West Sussex.
