We were staying for a few days in St Osyth when I had to take my husband to the Minor Injuries Unit on Saturday 17th September because he was confused and I thought he had a urine infection. The desk staff were very helpful and provided the necessary items for a sample. We only waited about 5 minutes before seeing a nurse who not only tested the sample but checked his chest, as he has COPD, his oxygen levels, blood pressure, temperature and abdomen, he doesn't get that much attention when he visits his GP.
Since he was confused the nurse was very careful and considerate in how they approached him and even made him laugh. Most of all they listened to my concerns, I can't praise them enough.
They then told us they would see if the doctor wanted to see him before we left and within no time we were seeing the doctor.
The doctor also examined him thoroughly once more, did another urine test and advised me what to do when we got back home to see our GP.
They provided me with a urine sample phial for a urine laboratory test, a Patient Summary printout and a prescription.
Altogether we were there for about an hour, in my local Primary Care Unit we are given 10 minutes. I can't thank the staff enough for their care, professionalism, dedication and making me feel comfortable and not a nuisance. Last but not least, the parking was easy and free for disabled. Excellent.
"Excellent Care and attention"
