"Eye clinic"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital / Ophthalmology

Can't believe how the hospital just loose patients notes. My mother is 89 years old. She's been backwards and forwards to the eye clinic with AMD, had injections in her eyes and they have now lost her notes (images of her eyes). Surely somebody must be responsible for this albeit there are thousands of patients notes etc there.

She is unable to make any personal plans and now has to go back on 19th October to have new notes made. She had arranged to go to a wedding, but thanks to somebody's inefficiency her plans have been scuppered - very disappointing for her.

Her notes must be somewhere if anybody could be bothered to find them. (Mrs. P.J. Law - her daughter)

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your forum comments. We are very sorry to her of the difficulties you have experienced with your mother's hospital medical records. We would like to look into this further for you and would be most grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) Department on tel: 01223 216756 or via email on: pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk to do this.
