"You made my stay actually ok!"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I have moaned and complained about waiting times and treatment at the hospital especially for someone like me who really does suffer from anxiety. However, this last health issue all I can say is a big, big thank you.

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and really did not have anything great to say about the treatment and this really did put me off my recent issue. I realised something was wrong and went to my GP who after an examination, sent me to for a scan and biopsy of my womb. This came back that I once again had cancer. I was scared I did tell them at the hospital that I really did not want to come to Crosshouse and that I suffer with anxiety and I was surprised but they actually listened to me.

From my first visit to get my scan to my biopsy and seeing the Doctor to being taken into the ward and even when I left the staff were all amazing. I had to go into Ward 6 and was told it would be from the Tuesday early and I would prob get on on the Friday but they would see how I was on the Thursday. Well Wednesday I was eager to get home but the doctor spoke to me and asked me to please wait till Thursday then I could go home as I was doing very well. I was also in my own room which also really helped me as I dont like being around people I dont know.

So a great thank you once again to all the staff on Ward 6 at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock you made my stay actually ok. I was able to stay as I honestly felt the staff understood even though they never said they even knew but they were amazing.

From the bottom of my heart I cant thank them enough for keeping me calm and letting me have the treatment that I really had to have.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Jan50

I am truly delighted you have now had your operation and everything has gone well with your stay. I will be very pleased to pass this on to the team and thank you so much for the update on your care.

I hope your full recovery goes well and everything else (you will know what I mean).

Best wishes,

Eunice
