"Emergency operations"

About: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital / Ophthalmology

Arrived by blue lights and sirens for retina reatachment and was operated on within the hour. Thankyou .This happened on a Saturday morning.A full team of special staff were assembled on the request of a Sheffield doctor who was unable to perform the procedure as a special v r nurse was not available..The Manchester hospital was clean, quiet and efficient. The only fault was the food provided out of hour was dreadful.

Ms H Bateman, Matron at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) was very sorry to receive your comments following your recent surgery MREH via the NHS Choices website. Patients who require meals out of hours are offered a snack box as the nursing staff do not have access to a hot meal service. We are sorry that you found this to be unsatisfactory. Your comments regarding the overall observations of the MREH have been passed to the ward manager.

It is very difficult to respond to your individual concerns without being able to investigate in detail. To do this we would need more information. If you would like to provide this, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or via e-mail at pals@cmft.nhs.uk. They will be happy to discuss this with you and liaise with the inpatient area.
