"Pointless going there!"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital

It is not the first time I've been to Cannock MIU for something that the NHS website says they can deal with. The first first time I went there was for a small cut that I had feared had become infected which, according to the NHS website (http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/Emergencyandurgentcareservices/Pages/Minorinjuriesunit.aspx) a MIU can deal with. Then yesterday, I went to the same MIU and after paying a fortune for parking I went down to the reception, was left stood waiting for around 3 Minutes (in view of the receptionist) when the receptionist came to me and asked how they could help, I said I think I might have broken my little finger. (Again, something that the NHS website says a MIU can deal with) the receptionist's immediate response was "just a warning, if we do think it's broken we will send you to a&e because we can't deal with broken bones. A direct contradiction with what it says on the NHS website. This news confused me as I know they have an X-ray department at Cannock. The issue I have now is that I think my little finger is still broken, but after doing what the NHS website told me to do (visit a MIU) I was left being told to go to a&e. Which I don't really want to be waiting for 3-4 hours when it could have been sorted quicker if Cannock actually knew what they were doing!
