"Exceptional!"

About: Clatterbridge Hospital / General surgery

I was admitted to Leverhulme ward in March for a gallbladder removal operation and again in September for a hernia repair. On both occasions I received excellent care. I was under the care of a surgeon who talked through my operations fully and was happy to explain everything and reassure me. My anaesthetist and juniors talked through the anaesthetic and listened to my concerns about pain and sickness. The theatre team were amazing, completely professional and comforted me through my nerves. After both operations I awoke comfortable with a wonderful recovery nurse looking after me. The ward staff were brilliant, even though they were clearly busy they were efficient and friendly. I would like to say a special thank you to the porter, unfortunately I can't remember their name but it was great to have such a friendly and kind person to chat to on my way to theatre when my nerves were at their worst. Unfortunately, one of my operations was cancelled at last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. Although this was stressful and disappointing I feel that the staff were completely sensitive to this and made every effort to rearrange my operation quickly and keep me informed. I apologise for not remembering everyone's names as each and every person that I encountered deserves recognition. Well done everyone and thank you for making this a positive experience for me.
