"Gynaecology department"

About: New Cross Hospital / Gynaecology

I have had numerous dealings with this hospital for the treatment of an on going condition Iv had for the past 7 years. I have severe endometriosis which has meant I find it bordering on impossible to receive help or advice from my GP always being told 'you need to speak to your consultant.' Although I appreciate I can not have a consultant at the end of the phone every time I come up against a problem, when I have scheduled 6 month follow up appointments I expect these appointments to be honoured by the consultant. Three times now I have been told my appointments have been 'cancelled' I have been to the hospital this afternoon only to be told my consultants appointments for today have all been cancelled! Without notice! Meaning not only have I lost time at work, I once again have no answers! It was bad enough that I had an MRI scan and waited almost a year for the follow up appointment. I am appalled by this service, a service for which I have duly paid for my entire working life. I am at a total loss as to what to do next. I have to give credit where credit is due in that every time I have had surgery at new cross the ward staff have gone above and beyond. It seems the failures lie in the general appointments and consultant departments, I get the feeling they just do what they want. I will have to now pay £250 to see a private consultant to get the answers I need. I'm so disappointed and upset, I will now be seeking a re referral to a different hospital and a different consultant.
