Recently had an x-ray and an ultrasound, both no delays anf efficiently carried out - the problem though for both was getting the results from my GP, for both results I waited a week before contacting the GP but then kept being told they didn't have the results, but when I eventually rang radiology I was told they had been sent.

There seems to be a problem with the results communication system between Lewisham hospital and the GP surgery whereby the results you send are not showing on the system at the GP surgery.

Also, by the way, when going to post this review there is no option for 'radiology'...?

Patients are usually asked to allow 5 working days for x-ray results to arrive at the GP surgery. This takes into account time for the Radiologist to look at the images and write a report. We are pleased to state that in most cases the results are with the GP within 3 working days.

Ultrasounds are reported within hours of the scan being performed, as the reports are done by the Sonographer or Radiologist performing the scan.

We apologise if this does not appear to have occurred in this case. There is an electronic result service, managed by our I.T.Department, which sends authorised reports to hospital clinicians and GPs. We have had no notification from other users or I.T. regarding loss of information and therefore we assume this is working correctly, we are therefore unable to explain why these results were not with your GP more promptly.
