"severe back pain"

About: BMI - Thornbury Hospital (Sheffield)

I recently attended your hospital as a NHS patient. I was seen by the neuro specialist who after my examination said that I had a problem with my facet joints. They went on to try and get me an appointment within Thornbury but as the time was after 6.00pm there was no one in any of the departments. I left their consultation room with them saying they would try and sort it out for me. At the time I had been suffering with severe back pain etc. for about 16 weeks. A week after the consultation a letter arrived with a review of the examination and the bottom line said (I quote from the letter) "I will make arrangements for her to have these injections here". My GP also received the same letter. So when I saw my GP the next time they said not to worry as the appointment would follow. Six week later I am still waiting so I decided to contact the hospital today 12/9/16. First phone call I was put through to the secretary at the Hallamshire, second got through to the secretary at Thrornbury to be told that I had to contact the x-ray department and gave me the number. Third got through the x-ray department who told me that they hadn't had a request for an appointment for me and that I should ring the secretary back. So on the fourth attempt I asked for the secretary again and was put in touch with who I thought was one of the team of secretaries, I explained what had been happening when they said that they weren't a secretary but they would try and sort it out for me. They looked on the system and told me that I had been discharged. This was news to me. I explained what my letter said and they said that they would contact the consultant and speak to them. The person took my phone number and said they would ring me back. About fifteen minutes later may phone rang and the same person was there. They told me that the procedure wouldn't be carried out at Thornbury even though my letter stated this and as I live in Derbyshire I will have to go through the pain clinic via my GP? So I have waited another six weeks since the consultation in extreme pain thinking that it would all be over soon, to have to wait again for who knows how long. If I had know this when I left the consultation or even if it stated it in the letter at least my GP could have been trying to sort something out for me. Now I don't know how long I am going to have to wait again. I am so angry and disappointed because I know if I had the money I would be seen tomorrow.
