I have been to the Accident and Emergency department at Moorfields Hospital three times to deal with complications arising from a corneal graft. On all occasions the service was excellent. Staff immediately grasped what the issue was and treatment was given at the hospital straight away. Two of the visits were on a Sunday where the overall waiting time to see a doctor (including being triaged and seeing a nurse) was around 2 hours. On a weekday morning, the wait was around 90 minutes. I'd have no hesitation in suggesting that anyone with an urgent but non-life threatening eye condition in South East England goes straight to Moorfields, rather than an A&E at an acute hospital.
"Excellent and efficient service at A&E"
