"Emergency admission"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

Having been diagnosed by my doctor with appendices I went to the Pilgrim. I was seen very quickly and taken to the ward. After many test including a CT scan it was confirmed as Perforated Diverticulitis. I cannot praise the hospital enough for the a care and attention I received from all members of staff from the consultant down to the tea staff. An operation proved unnecessary has the infection was cleared with antibiotics. I will be attending the hospital again soon for a colonoscopy and feel sure the staff in that department will be just as caring. On closing when I was allowed to eat I found the food good too

Dear Jean,

Thank you for posting this lovely feedback, which has been shared with the teams that were involved in your care, including the catering staff.

It is our aim to make sure all patients are treated with care, compassion and dignity, and it is really nice when someone takes the time to let us know we are getting it right.

I'm sure the team carrying out your colonoscopy will be equally caring, and I look forward to sharing your feedback with them in due course.

Once again, many thanks.

Chris Sharman,

Patient Experience Support Officer.
