Continuing on from where I cut myself off in mid sentence... After the nurse who took my medication details had finished with me I met the consultant anaesthetist. As opposed to being the high and mighty ogre people had so terribly unjustly named all anaesthetists this was a kind, sympathetic and extremely helpful person. Everything they told me about what was about to happen -happened. This was a consummate professional, as was the next man I met. Superman by comparison is an innocuous nobody. A little melodramatic maybe but this person has given me back a very important part of my life, my mobility. It may be a little soon to come to that conclusion but I have every confidence that this will be the case. This doctor is not alone in ranking as a super-man; I went on to meet many more 'Super-men and women. Every person from those who met me to the person who wheeled to the ward were like friends. A massive 'thank you' to all of you. Any one who has the temerity to say anything derogatory or defamatory against the medical or clerical staff at RJAH orthopaedic hospital in Gobowen will feel the sharp end of my tongue. Sincere thanks from Brent Best.
