"chaotic work practices"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Maternity

1. there is more nurses / midwifes on the corridors chasing themselves then actually with patients; 2. very badly organized - midwife spend 1 hour on the phone searching for someone to book another appointment for us; 3. consultant did not explain their thought process when making decision 4. patient meeting notes are not always documented on patient file; As result, midwifes need to spend additional time phoning around people to establish the facts and actual advice given by other doctors/consultants

We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the care you received at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Your comments have been shared with the Maternity clinic staff. Can we also encourage you to contact the Patient, Advice and Liaison Service on pals@btuh.nhs.uk or 01268 524900 ext 4441 to enable us to identify the specific clinic so that staff can implement learning from this to future practice.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us your experience.
