"Overnight stay"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / General surgery

I have recently had a laproscopic cholecystectomy, which went very well, I was a little disappointed with the after care I received on the ward, I had to stay in over night as I live more than 30 mins drive away from the hospital,

I might as well of gone home that night, I was told late in the evening that I was to be moved to another ward because they were busy which I fully understood, at about 12.20am the porter arrived in my room asking me to get out of bed and sit in the very old wheelchair, I struggled out of bed collected all my belongings and sat in the chair not a nurse in site, I was then taken on a bumpy ride to the other side of the hospital into another ward and left sitting in a chair beside a bed, I waited for a while for someone to come in, no one turned up so I got my self in bed.. Later on three other people joined me in the ward all were moved in their beds from various ward, I was very upset to say the least and also by this time in pain. On speaking with the other patient in the morning they all had their ops the day before,, I was very upset the way I was moved and the lack of care that was shown to me that night.
