"Lovely nurses"

About: Derriford Hospital

My mum was admitted to ICU Penrose 4 weeks ago after a planned op didn't go quite to plan. I can not thank the nurses enough for the care they have given to her. They work so hard and nothing is to much trouble for them. I wish I could thank each one of them individually because each one has been so supportive and really kept mine and my dads spirits up during a rough four weeks they really are amazing. I also would like to say how fantastic the reception staff are I really got to know them while we were down there even enough to show them my wedding photos! They were there every morning with a smile and I seen them put up with a lot of abuse from family's blaming them for not being able to go in yet! So thank you to you all you've made a dark time a little bit lighter.

Dear Natasha

I'm sorry to read your mum has been so poorly. Thank you very much for taking the time to write in and share your experiences of the care and treatment your mum received from our staff on Penrose. We make every effort to provide the highest standard of care and treatment at all times and it was so lovely to read your wonderful comments not only of the nurses, but our fantastic admin team too.

I will ensure a copy of your post is shared with everyone involved in your mums care. Comments of support and thanks are so important to our staff and I know they will be very grateful to read your positive comments about them.

I do hope your mum is recovering well.

With best wishes

Claire Jukes
