About: Watford General Hospital

My husband has been having ongoing health problems for the past few weeks and we felt that no one would listen to him at his Gp. Unfortunately he took a turn for the worse and ended up being taking to Watford general. Paramedics who arrived to assess my husband at home were fantastic, they were extremely caring and made sure myself and my mother in law were entertained with their jokes to keep the mood light and not to panic anyone further with the situation. Once we arrived at the hospital he was taken straight into resus department and was attended to by a doctor who was fantastic. The doctor took my husband seriously and assessed him for a few hours, they made sure myself and family were well informed and made my husband comfortable. Eventually we all ended up in AAU ward were I cannot praise the staff enough for all their efforts. My husband couldn't have got better care, he was extremely well looked after and they made sure myself and my family were looked after too. We ended up seeing many consultants through out his stay and every single one of them were professional, caring and kind to all of us.

I cannot praise this department enough the nurses were fantastic even after working extremely long and tiresome shifts they were nothing but kind and caring through out our stay. I would also like to thank the cardiac team who responded and dealt with my husbands emergency call. As you can imagine it's very frightening seeing several doctors rushing to your husband and not being able to see or help in any way. Everyone was so good at calming me down and reassuring me. The team were so quick at dealing and resolving the situation it was incredible to see how well they worked together. Again thank you all for all your help at getting my husband better, I will always be grateful to the staff who helped us these couple of days.
