"Poor organisation"

About: Queen's Hospital / Clinical haematology

Called a couple weeks ago as my GP requested I take a blood test.

Called the hospital who said no appointment is necessary, just turn up from 7am and take a ticket.

((*No question asked about which type of test was required at this point).

I arrive at the hospital last Wednesday at 7am, and I am already number 82 in the queue.

So I wait patiently for approximately 90 minutes until my number is called.

I show the nurse my forms and they says 'Oh you need an appointment for this test'......

?????? ..... ??????? Quite frustrated at this point but the nurse was very polite and friendly and gave me the number I need to call to make said appointment.

It is now Monday and I have called the number (01708 435 498) approximately 40 times, and left 3 voicemails, and as yet still have had no response.

I have also tried calling the main hospital number 01708 435 000, and no one has picked up,

I then found this website where many others before me have raised concerns about the response of the hospital, only to find yet another number of the PHL team or whatever, on 01708 435 454, who are also not answering my call.

To make this more insulting the second and third times I tried calling the line was engaged, and only seconds later it rang again, alas to no response, so somebody was quite clearly there and choosing to disregard the ringing phone.

Not really sure what I am supposed to do now, I guess I will have to just accept whatever fate may befall me since no one is particularly interested in checking my blood it would appear.

Thanks for nothing but wasting 3 hours of my life Queens hospital (including my travel time last Wednesday).

I sincerely hope you get your act together soon to avoid any potential loss of life.
