"If you can travel, go elsewhere to avoid..."

About: Bpas (brighton)

Something so daunting as having a termination should be made as comfortable as possible by the staff. I'm young (19) but I'm not justifying my decisions behind my termination like all the other reviews have been doing because this is about you guys, not me. It was probably my age, I don't know what other reason (other than having no heart) that could be justified by these nurses to be so unprofessional. Only the staff in the recovery room and 1 staff member when I was going under made me feel comfortable, however one recovery nurse was really preoccupied with their mobile. I had my consultation at another clinic. As I was having a surgical termination under general anaesthetic the nurse at the other clinic told me to pack an overnight bag as I would probably be staying the night. This daunted me but if the consultant recommended it, I knew it was for the best. When the day came I got to the clinic on time and the wait wasn't long but when it was my turn the nurse was horrible. I asked for my partner to come with me for the talk and the nurse looked like I had asked the impossible. In the room when they were talking to me I asked if it was necessary to stay the night as I would rather go home. The nurse laughed and said they don't even offer that here and continued to talk to me in a patronising way, making me feel super uncomfortable and stupid. I was also having the coil put in and asked questions about the 3 year jaydess coil (as thats what I was recommended), Brighton nurse just shook their head and said I would be getting the 5 year mirena. I should've said something there and then but in my crying distorted state I just wanted this all to be over with. Nothing any of what the nurses, friends or reviews said could've prepared me for what was to come. One nurse was quite off putting, but another was really sweet though espec when I couldn't stop crying and they held my hand. One surgeon(?) was laughing so much whilst I was being wheeled into theatre, when I was inside they tried to hold back laughter. I've never felt so mocked. After the procedure I was in excruciating pain. Like I said before, the recovery nurses were lovely, I took a bit longer to recover than everyone else but they still treated me with dignity and respect. Last nurse was lovely, who managed to crack a smile out of me. As I left the clinic the first nurse I saw walked past and gave me the dirtiest look? Why? This is not on!! Please don't go here.
