"Worst care I have ever received!"

About: The Yorkshire Clinic

I recently had an operation at this hospital, the surgeon came to see me before the procedure to get me to sign a consent form. I was told I would have the chance to ask about the operation which I did not get - I attempted to ask some questions to which the surgeon didn't answer and just left the room saying "hopfully it won't be too painful". The evening after my operation was the most painful experience of my life! I pressed my buzzer at 9:45pm to which no one came for 25 minutes by which time I was in tears and the only thing stopping me screaming was that I was in too much pain to be able too! When the nurse eventually came they give me paracetamol and left which didn't make any difference to the pain - they did later give tramadol but again this didn't help as the pain was far too strong - this pain continued throughout the night and I was unable to move, when needing the toilet I explained I was in too much pain to move the nurse insisted I try and then left me half off the bed saying they would be right back however I was left this way for 10 minutes I then physical begged for something for the pain to which I was told no. In the morning once the staff had changed over I explained about the pain to which the new nurse looked at my notes to see at the point of my op it had been stated to give me certain pain relief through my canular however the nurse through the night never gave me this and just left me crying in pain! I was then given the correct pain relief with the daytime staff!! I then asked to be discharged so I could get myself to another hospital as it was apparent the care at the Yorkshire clinic was appalling.

Just to give you an idea of the level of pain I was left in - I birthed twins 6 months earlier and the pain of having twins was not even close to the pain I was left in at the Yorkshire clinic!! I am still suffering with pain 2 weeks later and still haven't been told how it went or what they had to do inside!
