"They push you out the door too quickly"

About: Torbay Hospital / Accident and emergency

I am posting this on behalf of my father who was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the beginning of June. Prior to this week's first chemo session, he has been in and out of hospital so much. He is generally a very healthy man but after a tumor removal operation my family and I found they just wanted him out as soon as possible. Sadly, he got a post op infection, spent a day in a&e only to be sent home again...But to be rushed back by ambulance that evening. Today, 5 days after his first chemo, he had to return to a&e (for further complications) & after 4 hours was discharged only to get as far as reception before collapsing and my mother had to demand he was re-admitted. This was met with a negative attitude by the a&e doctor who was more put out that they would have to do the paperwork again!! Terrible a&e department & terrible post op care.
