"Amazing"

I had my first born at Airedale, 7 weeks ago and the experience was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful from the beginning - whether i was in for a growth scan or to check for movement in the later days, nothing seemed like too much hassle for the staff. I went into labour on a very busy weekend, but I never felt rushed. Staff took their time with me and checked on me regularly. When I was admitted to my midwife led labour room, it was clean and welcoming and had lots of options for me to explore and the midwife was supportive of my hypnobirthing. When I was in established labour, my midwife was amazing - juggling their time to perfection and keeping my husband updated at every step. My stitches were administered quickly after the birth with the use of gas and air. my husband and I were given ample space and time in the labour room to bond with our daughter after and i showered in the clean bathroom. Myself and my daughter were then escorted to ward 21 which was cosy and welcoming. Unfortunately, the last room that we were offered had no bed for my husband who decided he would stay on the floor. The nurse was helpful in dressing My daughter and helping us get her settled so we could all get some rest. The next day, we were visited by a doctor, I was offered food and the staff were extremely helpful in getting breast feeding established. We were offered a second night stay (and a bed was wheeled in for my husband) as I was still struggling with feeding and the staff answered every question I had, coming in intermittently to check on my progress and offer additional support. I was able to shower and was given additional pads as I had run out. I left the hospital feeling rested and supported, ready to start our new adventure. I cannot recommend Airedale enough - the care, support, facilities and staff are outstanding. I cannot thank them enough.
