What could be improved

The room my mother was in at first, stunk of urine. Took me a lot of dettol to clean it. A staff member was shrieking with laughter outside the room my mother was dying in. Other nurses did not seem to recognise a dying patient.

Anything else?

My first experience with this hospital was 4 years ago, when my mother had a hip replacement, got collinstrum difficile plus pressure sores and leg ulcers. I took her out after 5 weeks of horror, not knowing she had c.diff till the day I extracted her. Care of an elderly patient with dementia is simply a disgrace. It seems obvious, if you put an elderly person sitting in a chair all day they will get swollen legs, which will take its toll on thin skin surfaces and leave them open to infection. At one stage my mother was sharing a toilet with 2 elderly male patients. I cleaned it myself every day, it was disgusting. I cannot even come within sight of the Royal liverpool hospital now, without feeling sick and starting to shake. I do not believe that nurses today actually care about people, and I do not know why they took up the profession. My experiences with this hospital fill me with horror.
