"experience of excellent care Re:my son's hand..."

About: Warwick Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

On attending ae we were promptly seen by the triage nurse . Reassured and waited for the ae doc to review . At this point the simple action could have been to suture and take a wait and see approach . Though the care and senior level decision making ensured that we were reviewed by the surgical on call with an arranged operation for the next day. Although, as with all decisions in care some waiting was part of the process . We were made comfortable and offered tea by the HCA and kept in formed by the nurse .

The following day we were promptly called and bed made available on mc Gregor ward. Again excellent processes . The care and attentiveness of the staff helped reduce my 11year old sons anxiety considerably. Kind staff who's expertise was effortless in helping us stay relaxed and making my son feel very safe.

Especial mention to

- ortho reg Who took the time to explain all to my son and I .

-Anaesthetic team who's preparation of my son ensured I could Stay till he fell asleep and nursery nurse making sure i was ok and not too upset.

-Mc Gregor nursing staff who provided excellent care and ensured that we were discharged promptly with all the necessary information and contacts for any further support.

At all points in my son's journey the staff were open , friendly and caring . There is not much more you could ask for as small things like this do matter and are very much appreciated.
