"Not very impressed"

About: Sussex Eye Hospital

I have been having extreme headaches for 4 weeks, been to hospital had an mri and awaiting results. In meantime my eyes have got really bad, keep blacking out and have swimming vision. My mum took my nan to a sceduled eye appointment here this morning and asked about my eyes whilst there. The consultant was very concerned and advised her to bring me in straight away. So i came in, spoke to reception at outpatients as unsure where to go they were very rude and, passed us to the a&e receptionist who started talking to someone else whilst we were talking. This person then passed to a nurse who was again very rude and dismissive. I wasnt asking to be seen straight away, i knew i would have to wait but i did expect to be treated with some courtesy and respect. Having a problem with your eyes is stressful enough without rude staff who dont want to help you out. I havnt seen anyone about my eyes yet. I hope i have a better experience with them when i am eventually seen.

I am really sorry that you have had such a negative experience with A&E at the Sussex Eye Hospital and poor communications at what we understand is a very difficult time.

I do hope that your experience at our hospital improved and that your are recovering well.

Kind regards,

Hannah Pacifico
