About: Hertford County Hospital

I had an appointment last week at gynae at 11am and someone finally decided to see me at 12.30pm, so 1.5 hours of waiting :( . When I finally got into the doctors office I noticed my folder on the desk with 1 single page which was the referral letter from my GP. I have to mention that I've been on the waiting list for IVF in London for more than a year and I have lots of medical history behind me, and you arrange an appointment for me without your 'homework' done? 1 single page??

The doctor didn't know any informations about me and told me that I can not start the IVF procedures as long as I've been living in Hertfordshire for 7 months only, and they asked me nicely to go back home and wait.

I'm extremely disappointed, they are not fully informed about their patients and I haven't noticed they tried their best.

We're sorry that you were disappointed with the consultation - if you moved relatively recently to Hertfordshire, were you being seen at another NHS hospital - if this was the case then we would not have access to that information unless a request for that to be done had been made at the time of your referral to be seen at Hertford County.

Also the eligibility rules for IVF are not see by us, but rather the local clinical commissioning group.

But by the sounds of things, none of this was discussed and it also seems that no explanation was given as to why you had to wait to be seen.
