I'm a radiographer and cancer patient and have been attending the clinic at Mount Vernon for over a year now.
The clinic is consistently over-booked so waiting times can be very long, but that is unavoidable I think at an oncology clinic.
I needed to be seen every three weeks whilst having chemotherapy so there was no way I could be told "sorry, the clinic is booked up, you'll have to come a week late"!
This is why things run late.
Having said that, I've never felt at all rushed when I do get to see the oncologists.
They've always given me as long as I need at each appointment.
The research nurses and oncology support nurses have been fantastic and each time I've had a scan, blood test or had my port flushed, I've been impressed by the standard of care.
Thank you to all the staff at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
"Excellent care"
