After speaking to 111 I was advised to take my 11 year old son to the Urgent Care Centre at Skegness.
We had previously been seen at Pilgrim Hospital on Saturday morning and so this was not even 48 hours later.
My son had had an accident which meant the fleshy part of his index finger had been cut off.
Staff at Pilgrim used steristrips and bandages to dress his wound as stitching was not an option.
In a lot of pain and scared, my son was apprehensive about the staff at Skegness touching his wound... He was met with 'Don't worry, we only cut fingers off on Fridays'.
Usually well humoured, this did not go down well with my son who was scared.
We were then seen, admittedly very quickly, by a nurse practitioner who showed no compassion to him at all.
I asked if they could take a break from removing his dressing as he was upset and crying to be told no - If it's done quickly it'll hurt for less time - again, not the logic followed by my 11 year old at the time.
In the end I had to take his hand away from them and insist on him having a break from the pain.
He was not offered any pain relief at any stage of the process.
Very unhappy at the 'grown up' attitude the staff had towards him and not child friendly at all.
"No compassion for my son at all"
