"Left to my own devices."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Overall the staff I had contact with during my stay were kind and helpful. However some staff need to learn how to communicate with each other better as some of the team would say one thing and then nothing would happen. I witnessed elderly patients being ignored and had to speak up for them to get the care they needed.

I didn't get medication when I should have and had to spend longer in hospital as a consequence.

The food was awful limited choice and quite often I didnt get what I had asked for. Dry bread and cheese is not a sandwich and gravy does not go with quiche.

I'm sorry to hear that things were not very good during your admission. This is not the standard of care that we expect and would be grateful for the opportunity to look into where this happened so we can make sure things are improved.

I would appreciate if you could e-mail us direct on PHT.PALS@porthosp.nhs.uk

Kind regards

Marion
