My mother was admitted to the stroke unit, via A&E. Initial impressions were very favourable, particularly of the medical staff, but once they concluded their tests they lost interest and we quickly felt my mother was regarded as a potential 'bed blocker', to be removed from the hospital at all costs asap. Despite being clearly unwell she was left in the Discharge Lounge with her suitcase, like orphan Annie. The person who went to collect her commented on her dirty and dishevelled state.
"Not a positive experience"
