"Blood test results"

About: Watford General Hospital

To the Birmingham Lab.. If that's what you wish to call yourself.. I am 38 weeks + 1 day pregnant. I had bloods taken on the 8th August for a suspected obstetric cholestasis.. I was then brought into MDAU as my liver function was high.. I then was there twice in a week.. One day I sat and waited 6 hours to be seen.. Only to be told my results weren't ready.. I kept being told that my Bile Acid (the result that would say whether I would be induced or not) results were 'pending' and it's now the 18th and still no sign. They have taken two lots of bloods during this process. I now find out today that the 'Birmingham Lab' don't even have my specimen.. So please tell me why for 10 days you've been misleading to the midwives and myself with my results?? I haven't just got to think about myself.. I have to think about my unborn child. Luckily I have been having regular scans for the baby and she is growing perfectly. If you were to tell the midwives sooner about 'not receiving' my specimen then I would have gladly given them again.. Alot sooner than today. So whoever deals with this may you please re-consider your job role.. As clearly it's not for you.. And get someone who's a bit more competent in this area. I have now been poked for the 3rd time in a week for bloods.. Just because my originals bloods were not 'delivered' but you were happy to tell the MDAU that the results were 'pending' - definitely a top job done.. Now hopefully the bloods taken today will reach you and I can make sure the rest of my pregnancy goes great.. Without anyone's stupidity. To all the midwives at MDAU.. Thank you for everything.. It's not easy dealing with others who can't do there job right.
