On Saturday afternoon on the 29th July 2016 I unfortunately had to visit the Urgent Care Department at Hexham General Hospital after falling off a motorbike breaking my arm.
I would like to thank the staff on duty that day for the professional and caring way I was dealt with. I was triaged within 5 minutes of checking in and within the space of less than an hour I had 3 xrays taken and a diagnosis of a hairline fracture of my left arm. I was discharged with a sling and a promise of a follow up phone call from the consultant (saving a trip next day to confirm if further treatment was necessary or not). As promised, 10am the next day- Sunday - I recieved a follow up phone call. (This is a brilliant idea, it must save you as well as the patient so much time to be able to confirm diagnosis over the phone, i wish our local hospital would consider doing that). I cannot praise the hospital enough for my treatment and level of service I received. As a visitor from the Isle of Man, we were only staying in Hexham until Monday, it would have been difficult for us to attend a follow up appointment. Please pass on my grateful thanks to the staff on duty on that day. (N.B re star ratings- as I visited as an out-paitent I can't mark you on your same-sex accomodation).
"Brilliant Service"
