"Disappointed"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

I had my gallbladder removed at the beginning of August and saw the Consultant prior to surgery.

They seemed very annoyed that someone with a WV postcode was using the hospital, despite the fact the I pay Council tax to Dudley and RHH is my closest hospital.

I have never used a Wolverhampton Hospital and am never given the option at my GP Surgery.

This was a little disheartening.

The other surgical team were warm and reassuring.

The overall care that I received is what I expect from the NHS.

Thank you for submitting feedback about your experience of Russells Hall Hospital.

We are sorry to hear that you felt disappointed during your visit to us and that the consultant made you feel unwelcome. The NHS e-referral service allows patients to choose where they receive their treatment, regardless of where they live or their postcode, so we can only apologise for your consultant’s behaviour.

It is reassuring to hear that this was not your experience with our wider surgical team and that they were warm and reassuring.

We have passed your comments onto the team in General Surgery.
