I was transferred on two occasions from the rvi after having both of my sons, I wanted to give birth at Hexham but has to be induced on both occasions. I came back to Hexham to get support and help with having a newborn and breastfeeding. The support I received with my breastfeeding was outstanding, I struggled for a while and was exhausted, the nurses said just to ring the buzzer anytime I wanted to feed and they would help me. I was so exhausted from feeding they even took my little one away for a few hours. My sons were both greedy and felt like I rang my buzzer every hour, nothing was a problem. I felt very well looked after and spoils. The food isn't great but the service makes up for it. They let me stay as long as I wanted to.

Congratulations on becoming a mother again, what an exciting time for you and your family.

I’m sorry to hear that you have had a difficult time breastfeeding your baby, it’s fantastic to know that our wonderful team at Hexham hospital have been of such great support to you.

We know how important it is that our mums are given a helping hand, and that we do everything we can to do to support the choice to breastfeed and give your wee one the best start.

I will let the team know how greatly appreciated their help during this time, the staff will all be delighted.
