I have been in the BRI twice in the last two months and the treatment has been excellent on both occasions. Last month, I dislocated my knee. The staff in A&E were extremely helpful and got me the treatment I needed quickly and efficiently. Follow up appointments for physiotherapy were booked regularly and have all been of fantastic help and quality. Yesterday, I was admitted in to day surgery for the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth. I was rather anxious, as I had never been under general anaesthetic before, but the professionalism of the whole team put me at ease. The pre-op team were lovely and even managed to put a smile on my face with a few jokes. The surgeon and anaesthetist both came to see me beforehand, explained exactly what was going to happen and answered any questions I had. The surgeon then came to see me afterwards in recovery to explain how everything went. I spent a couple of hours in recovery before feeling well enough to go home and I was provided with a bag of medication and clear instructions for how/when to take them, along with general after care. I recieved a call from one of the nurses this morning, just to check how I was. A really brilliant service.
