I would like to say Thank You to the staff in A&E. One of the hottest days of the year and one busy evening for A&E as lots of people injured themselves outdoors including my daughter aged 4 1/2 who clattered off a scooter and bumped her head. She briefly lost consciousness and I wanted to check she was ok. Triage charge nurse Eddie was superb dealing with my daughter who could only be described as crabbit as she just wanted to go home and go to bed! Also Carol the doctor who took time to build a rapport with her before trying to assess her. I felt reassured throughout and it was explained that she had probably fainted. I was advised that this would be discussed with the Senior Doctor and following this we were able to go home. I felt this treatment was very patient centred to my daughter and kept in mind the worried parents.
The service could only be improved if there was an intercom for the patient call system.
"I felt reassured throughout"
