"I was admitted to the antental ..."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to the antental ward 1 week before having my son. Most of the nurses were very nice and hapy to help and offer support. I had quite a tough time having my first child. The midwives on the labour ward were fantastic I couldn't fault them.

What could be improved

There was quite a few times where I didn't know what was going on and it would have been nice to know. On a few occasions when I asked Nurses questions I felt like I was being a pain by the " rolling of the eyes" I would get. After all It wasn't only the first time I've had to saty in hospital but it was my first child too, so I was bound to have questions. Some were helpful others not so.

Anything else?

I think the before and after care of having a baby were awful. I was told they were short staffed. When I was taken to the labour ward to have my waters broken I was take in the morning, however they weren't broken until the late afternoon as I was told they were short staffed and didn't have the staff to look after me just yet. So what would have happened if my waters broke naturally? It wasn't very reassuring to know that if my waters broke naturally that there wouldn't be a midwife to look after me. However the midwives I had were brilliant. They were very supportive and helpful.
