"I had cataracts in my right eye."

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I was given an operation date in the same week as my pre-assessment date. The pre-assessment staff took me through the procedure and told me what to expect during and after the operation. They answered all my questions and reassured me I was in good hands. On the day of the operation the pre op Day ward staff briefed the eight of us on the procedure and the preparations they would do and the order of who was to be prepped first. We were offered Tea and Biscuits.

The Anaesthetic went through what he will be doing and why.

The Surgeon told me what the procedure will entail and the benefits of surgery and during the operation he informed me of the progress he was making up to the end of surgery.
