"Epilepsy Clinic - Sapphire Nurse"

About: Southmead Hospital

Fantastic Sapphire Nurse at the Neurology Service. Works really hard, very patient centred, this epilepsy nurse had over 4000 patients on their roll and still manages to keep in touch and give the extra mile. Really know's what they are on about, really understood me as a patient, utilises the best technology, however, I think more funding needs to go in to this service. I am working with epilepsy charities at the moment and think it would be fantastic to set-up a community based epilepsy service similar to others around the UK. One Sapphire nurse is not enough, but the one who is there is doing a brilliant job and should be better valued. More funding needs to be sent to the epilepsy nurse services.

Dear Lotte thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your views of the Epilepsy Clinic, part of the Neurology service at Southmead Hospital.

I am pleased to learn that you found the support and care of the Sapphire Nurse fantastic. Your kind comments have been fed back to the nurse and the whole team. Your remarks about the service needing more funding for the epilepsy nurse services has also been fed back to the team, who will be able to use your support in any future discussions with the service commissioners.

Thank you again - kind regards.
