"Very caring and considerate staff on Ward 38"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Medicine (Wards 3, 4, 5 &46)

(as a relative),

Our lovely elderly aunt had an extremely nasty fall from her care home bed and was admitted to hospital. Once diagnosed she was taken to Ward 38. As we are on holiday, we have telephoned the ward several times to enquire as to her health and progress. We have been delighted at the understanding nature of the nurses in the ward who have taken our calls when we know that they are extremely busy and we would like to thank nurse Emma and the other nurses and staff members whose names we don't know for their kindness, understanding and sincere empathy. They have been absolutely amazing. God bless them and thank you once again.

Dear Dubai

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am sorry to read that your aunt had a fall resulting in her being admitted to hospital. However, I am pleased to read that our staff have been helpful and understanding when you have phoned the ward to ask about your aunt. This is exactly how we expect family members to feel when they are seeking an update on their loved one.

I will ensure your kind words are shared with the staff as they will be delighted to hear they have had such an impact.

I would like to wish your aunt a speedy recovery.

Best wishes
Lisa
