About: Southampton General Hospital

There is no real care from the staff, they prefer to sit in the nursing bay and chat.

When you approach (timidly) for anything they stare as if you are interrupting their clique.

Woah betide if you ask for your drugs when they are due - and never question the fact your child is in pain or bleeding.I am sure many do a wonderful job, but perhaps just not there.

Nurses used to go into the profession as they care, whereas now it seems they go for an easy ride but still able to tell everyone how busy they are.

There was one exception when we were there - she was amazing, knocked socks of the rest, but sadly 1 in a million in the NHS today.

Inefficient, ineffective and badly managed.

Thank you for raising this issue, though it was disappointing to read of your experience.

This is not how we would want any patient or relative to be made to feel.

We will share your feedback with the staff on G3 so that they can reflect on how they have come across to you.

Thank you for your kind comment about the exceptional nurse and we believe this is how most nurses do aspire to be.
