I'd heard some mixed views on the birthing centre at musgrove so was not really sure what to expect when I went in, knowing they had been really busy and short staffed lately, it could of been because of the time of night I finally went in, but I could no fault one thing, the midwife that dealt with me was one of the loveliest people I have ever met, she was really patient, chatty but also left me and my husband to it despite being in the room the whole time (apart from when they had a break which even then they were reluctant to go on), when I finally gave birth which took longer than any of us thought they looked just as exhausted as I was but they were so supportive till the very end, perfect for a nervous first time mum! If you have them as your midwife you're in great hands (if you could request a midwife for birth I would want them for my next), afterwards, I was quick to be seen to and because of this I was able to get myself cleaned up and sorted and feeling a bit more normal sooner than I thought possible, all the staff were very friendly, and I was home the same day, so despite any bad things you hear go in with an open mind, the staff on bracken do a great job given how busy they are, and I hope I can use the centre again next time!
"Nothing to worry about!"
